Nestled in the historic heart of Barston, The Bull’s Head has stood as a cornerstone of the community for hundreds of years, serving as a physical timeline of our village’s rich past. While our elegant brick frontage welcomes you with the classic charm of a 19th-century Victorian facade, stepping inside reveals a remarkable journey through time. Tucked directly behind the main building lies the oldest structural heart of the property—a beautifully preserved 17th-century wing that dates back to our origins as a bustling Stuart-era coaching inn.
Constructed to offer warmth and respite to weary travellers navigating the ancient pathways of the rural Forest of Arden, this Grade II listed structure still proudly retains its original timber-framed skeleton. Beneath our low-slung, centuries-old oak ceilings and amid historic wood panelling, generations of travellers and locals alike have shared stories, warmth, and great company by the open hearths. Over the centuries, the pub has stood witness to the evolution of Barston from a quiet agricultural settlement into the vibrant community it is today, remaining a steadfast gathering place through the ages. We proudly preserve this deep heritage, meticulously protecting our original architectural features while blending hundreds of years of tradition with the very best of modern hospitality, exceptional food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all who walk through our doors.

We have been here lots of times for a bar meal. This time we came and had the Sunday dinner. Highly recommended. Gravy was very tasty. Lovely big Yorkshire puddings. Roast potatoes also excellent. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
The food is hot, well presented and a good portion size.
I especially like the Fish and Chips dish that they serve.
And the recent refurbishment has been tastefully done, in keeping with the character of this small public house.
Just wow! We stayed in a local air bnb and this place was recommended. The food was great; cooked to perfection and the bill was a pleasant surprise…very reasonable. We stayed two nights and visited here both evenings. The waitress was friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely return.
Newly refurbished country pub with friendly staff and fabulous food. In a sadly dying industry these chaps have invested heavily and done a great job. Amazing Sunday lunch with well kept great range of ales. Well worth a visit.
